Description

Polycarbonate tube

Impact-resistant polycarbonate tube that is transparent can take a beating. Plastic tube from Plastic Forte is exactly what you are looking for. The tubes are translucent and specifically developed as engineering plastics. Polycarbonate is particularly impact-resistant, has high mechanical strength, dimensional stability and good creep resistance. Configure your transparent polycarbonate tube as you wish.

Transparent polycarbonate pipe and its applications

Polycarbonate tubes are associated in the plastics world with virtually unbreakable crystal clear glass. However, the version described here is an industrial grade that has all the 'known' polycarbonate properties, except for its high clarity. This well electrically insulating engineering plastic is suitable for direct food contact and is only available in sheets from 16 mm thickness and full bars. The polycarbonate tube transparent can be ordered per full length (2 metres) and half length (+/- 1 metre).

A transparent polycarbonate tube is mainly used for technical applications due to its impact-resistant nature. Here you can think of parts with high impact and dimensional stability, medical devices and medical components that must remain transparent. The transparent nature of these tubes also makes them suitable for visual inspection in industrial processes. Moreover, transparent tubes are also often used in protective equipment.

The properties of the polycarbonate tube

The brand name of polycarbonate is Gevacril. Polycarbonate is distinguished from other plastics by its optical purity combined with very high impact resistance. The polycarbonate material is exceptionally strong and therefore very suitable to use when making pipes. As a result, you can count on the tubes doing their job perfectly. Unlike plexiglass (cracks), a polycarbonate tube is practically unbreakable. In fact, polycarbonate sheets are as much as 250 times stronger than plexiglass of the same thickness.

We list all the features again:

  • Industrial engineering quality
  • Translucent, but not optically transparent
  • Extremely high impact resistance
  • Very high dimensional stability
  • Good for bonding and welding
  • Fire-retardant (fire certification B1 according to European standard)
  • Extruded from normal standard granulate
  • Not provided with a UV protective layer
