Description
A U-profile is a mostly aluminium profile that is applied to the lower lintel of interior windows. The purpose of the U-profile is to catch and possibly discharge condensation water, which runs down the inside of the house from the window and onto the window frame.
The U-profile is usually only used with single-glazing because double-glazing is much less likely to cause condensation. Sometimes, in the case of double-glazed windows, it is necessary to provide the original single-glazed window frame with additional venting holes or (larger) U-profile, as there is no longer sufficient airflow through the double-glazed window in the cavity, causing more condensation.
A U-profile is made of Brute Aluminium and is applicable to multiple thicknesses in terms of plates. For sheets of 10mm and 16mm and 32mm
In terms of lengths, it also comes in different sizes. This is often strongly related to the standard widths of the sheets. Of course, we can shorten it to the desired size for you, but you can also feel free to do this yourself.
U-profiles are installed because Polycarbonate can condense. Such a profile ensures that even the structure (often wood) cannot rot due to condensation.
