Why a polycarbonate roof?
Polycarbonate (PC) is a plastic known for its exceptional strength. The lightweight material is highly impact-resistant, which makes it an ideal choice for transparent polycarbonate roofing. Moreover, this plastic is UV-resistant on the top side and does not yellow when exposed to direct sunlight. A complete polycarbonate roof set allows a lot of natural light to pass through thanks to its clarity, and you can enjoy sitting in your conservatory or on the terrace under your canopy without the UV rays having any impact.
The polycarbonate roof set consists of thermally insulating polycarbonate sheets, aluminium profiles (intermediate profiles, side profiles and wall profiles), rubbers, tape and screws. This complete set ensures that you only need to concern yourself with fixing the polycarbonate roof, with minimal use of tools. Do you prefer a clear canopy, or does opal fit well with the rear facade of your home? Depending on your home and your preferences, you can put together the polycarbonate roof set to your liking.
The service life of polycarbonate
Generally, a polycarbonate roof lasts about 15 years, provided you maintain it properly. This includes cleaning the polycarbonate sheets with lukewarm water and a mild cleaning product such as washing-up liquid. Using a soft microfibre cloth is a wise choice to avoid scratching the polycarbonate. It is also important to regularly remove the accumulation of dirt, leaves and other debris, as this can reduce the transparency of the polycarbonate sheets and negatively affect their lifespan.
