How is PET felt made?

PET felt is made from recycled plastic, such as water and soft drink bottles. This plastic is separated and the fibres are laid in the same direction. Friction causes the fibres to join together to form felt. The advantage of PET felt is that it dampens sound well, and it can be recycled again when it is no longer used.

1. On a frame or slatted frame: Mounting felt on a wooden or metal frame creates an air cavity, providing additional sound absorption.
2. Glue directly to the wall: PET felt can easily be glued with a strong adhesive sealant such as Parabond 800, which works well on flat walls or on a front wall.
3. Fix with hook slats: Hook slats offer a secure attachment to the wall. The hook slats are attached to the back of the felt and then placed on the wall.
4. In combination with acoustic wool: For maximum sound absorption, PET felt can be used together with acoustic wool, such as ClimaWool.
